Because of the process of the following reactions caused by sodium (Na) and silicon (Si) included in BAS as its components, the forming of scale will be prevented.

Against the SCALE having a calcium component

Ca(HCO 3 ) 2 + 2 NaOH ---> Ca(OH) 2 ( breakup ) + Na 2 CO 3 + CO 2 + H 2 O

CaCl 2 +2 NaOH ---> Ca(OH) 2 ( breakup ) + 2NaCl

Ca(HCO 3 ) 2 + SiO 2 + 2NaOH ---> CaSiO 3 ( breakup ) + Na 2 CO 3 + CO 2 + 2H 2 O

CaCl 2 + SiO 2 + 2NaOH ---> CaSiO 3 ( breakup ) + 2NaCl + H 2 O

Against the SCALE having a silicon component

SiO 2 + 2NaOH ---> Na 2 SiO 3 ( water - soluble ) + H 2 O

Against the SCALE having a magnesium component

Mg(HCO 3 ) 2 + 2NaOH ---> Mg(OH) 2 ( breakup ) + Na 2 CO 3 + CO 2 + H 2 O

MgCl 2 + 2 NaOH ---> Mg(OH) 2 ( breakup ) + 2NaCl

Mg(HCO 3 ) 2 + SiO 2 + 2NaOH ---> MgSiO 3 ( breakup ) + Na 2 CO 3 + CO 2 + 2H 2 O

MgCl 2 + SiO 2 + 2NaOH ---> MgSiO 3 ( breakup ) + 2NaCl + H 2 O

Organic Compound Chemicals	CALFA BAS
Not crystallize Ca + , Mg + , Si + , Fe + , etc. in water. Cannot remove scale.	Ca + , Mg + , Si + , Fe + , etc. in water will be coagulated into colloid, them into the state of sludge. Can prevent scale and remove it.

The regular water quality inspection and the chemicals' concentration control will be needed. When the balance of this management is violated, the crystallization will occur. When crystallization's preventive limits are exceeded, the scale will from rapidly.	No need to control its concentration. Therefore, the frequency of the water quality inspection and the number of inspection items can be reduced to a minimum. The water is made to be cation, thereby preventing the system from corrosion. (The corrosion occurs due to the mixture of anion and cation ) . 2NaOH converts SiO 2 , a scale binder, into water - soluble Na 2 SiO 3 , thereby turning scale into being soft and removed.
